FAQs
Getting married is a big commitment. And choosing a wedding photographer is too! Below, I’ve compiled a common list of questions I receive from couples regarding my services.
BOOKING & AVAILABILITY
-
Generally, most couples book somewhere between 9-18 months in advance. I do recommend booking your preferred wedding vendors as soon as you have a date set to ensure availability on your wedding day!
-
Yes, I love traveling! I’ve been to 43 states and counting. If a flight is required, you’l be responsible for covering airfare and 2 nights of lodging at a hotel or Airbnb local to your venue. I always travel the day before to avoid any issues from travel delays, and leave the day after your wedding so there’s no rush.
-
Yes, a non-refundable deposit of 25% of the wedding package cost is required to hold your wedding date. The remaining balance is due 1 week prior to your wedding day.
-
If you need to reschedule your wedding due to something beyond your control, I’ll do my absolute best to accommodate if my schedule allows.
PHOTOGRAPHY STLE & SERVICES
-
Rather than chasing trends, I aim to deliver photos that are natural, true to life, yet beautiful. Over decades of editing, I’ve adopted and fine tuned a select few editing presets that closely resemble two classic films: Kodak Gold for color images, and Kodak Tri-X 400 for black and white. These are a starting point for most of my wedding images, and offer a consistent quality with a hint of nostalgia.
Since every wedding is unique in terms of venue, time of day, and other variables, every image is then further adjusted to make sure each photograph looks as good as the last.
-
While I prefer to capture each wedding day organically as it unfolds, I do welcome a brief shot list in a few key instances.
First and foremost, a shot list is hugely beneficial when capturing family group portraits. This ensures we don’t miss any groups on the day of.
Also, feel free to let me know if there are any specific sentimental items, decorations, or moments you don’t want me to miss. For example, you might be wearing jewelry from a parents wedding, or you may want to capture a first look prior to the ceremony.
-
While I photograph 90% of my weddings as a solo shooter, I do ofer a second shooter to all of my packages for an additional fee.
Typically, the only time I recommend a second shooter is when the bride and groom are getting ready at separate venues, and it’s challenging or impossible logistically to be at both prior to the ceremony.
The rest of the wedding day will be more than covered as a solo photographer!
-
I do offer a highlight reel set to music as an add-on to my packages. If you’re looking for full ceremony coverage, let me know and I can recommend a few trusted filmmakers.
WEDDING DAY LOGISTICS
-
My packages start at 8 hours of coverage, which is sufficient to capture everything from prep till send off on most wedding days.
We can customize coverage if needed to cover logistical challenges, or if a reception venue is far from a wedding venue.
-
If I haven’t shot at your venue before, I spend some time researching using a combination of the venues website, and google maps if applicable, just to get familiar with the lay of the land.
I don’t spend too much time looking at the work of other photographers, as I enjoy approaching new venues with fresh eyes and a creative approach!
-
While I’m not a wedding planner, I can absolutely provide recommendations on how much time to plan for things like family photos, bridal party portraits, etc.
Each wedding and venue is unique, so I absolutely recommend a planner or coordinator to help keep the ball rolling.
-
While it may seem like a bummer at first, rain can be a blessing in disguise in regards to wedding photography. Some of my favorite images I’ve ever taken have been the result of rainy weather that required some out of the box and creative thinking.
All of my equipment is weather sealed, and able to stand up to just about anything but a downpour.
Editing & Delivery
-
This number will vary based on a few factors, but typically I delivery somewhere between 450-850 images in your finished wedding gallery.
All images are carefully edited and color corrected.
-
While my contract officially states a 2 month allowance for photo delivery, the vast majority of my wedding galleries are delivered 3-4 weeks from the wedding day.
Additionally, I almost always put together a sneak peek of 12-20 photos to send over a few days after your wedding for you to share on social or with family.
-
I sure do! I offer professional-quality prints, albums, and wall art to showcase your wedding memories beautifully.
While digital backups are great, nothing beats seeing a printed photo that you love hanging on your wall!
-
You’ll have personal usage rights to print and share your photos anywhere you please, forever.
As the photographer, I retain the copyright of images and may use them for portfolio or promotional purposes on my website, social media, etc.

-
There are no surprises or hidden fees for typical weddings. The pricing will be clearly outline in your contract before signing, and tax is already built into the price displayed on our site.
The only additional fees would be travel for weddings outside of our typical service area.
-
Yup! My contract is simple and easy to understand, and will outline all of the services provided during your wedding day, including all package details.
The contract needs to be signed by the person paying for photography services, so in some cases that will be the couple, in some cases it might be parents or a relative.
General Questions
-
I shoot on the Sony Alpha line of cameras and lenses, and have multiple cameras on each wedding day in case of emergency.
All photos are shot to 2 Memory Cards in each of my cameras. After the wedding, these images are backed up to multiple hard drives, as well as a cloud storage service. In short, there are multiple backups of your photos from the moment I take them till the moment you receive them.
Suffice to say, your photos are safe and sound.
-
I recommend wearing outfits that reflect your personalities and are comfortable.
In many cases, neutral or complementary colors work well. But at the end of the day, your photos should be a reflection of you. So feel free to just be yourself!
-
We are fortunate to live in a time where great wedding photography is abundant, especially here in DFW.
At the end of the day, you should hire the photographer whose work most resonates with you! If that’s me, fantastic! I’ll knock it out of the park for you. If it’s another photographer, that’s fine too!
What drives me is my absolute love for telling stories, and the idea that my photos will help tell the story of your wedding for generations to come.
-
Absolutely. I recommend either a zoom/phone call or meet up at a local coffee shop with all of my couples prior to booking.
An engagement session is another great way to test the waters and get to know how I work prior to your wedding day.
Regardless of what you choose, you’ll find I’m incredibly easy going, and aim to remove any and all stress from your wedding day through the way I work.
