Class of 2020 - Clayton at Old Town Lewisville
Fall weather is FINALLY making its way down to Texas, and this week i’ve had a chance to reflect on a few of my favorite shoots from summer: Clayton’s included. Clayton is a member of the Flower Mound Band, and spent this summer marching with The Troopers Drum & Bugle Corps. All this to say, he’s hardworking and was super easy to shoot with!
We met up at Old Town Lewisville (featured here in my location guide), which is one of my favorite centrally located shooting spots in DFW. It’s got a good variety from a clean and modern outdoor space to a more rustic Main Street full of weathered storefronts and warm colors.
The session started just before sunset, so we were able to utilize a mix of direct sunlight for a more dramatic and bold look, followed by some soft backlight for a more natural look and feel.
Instead of the usual High School Letter Jacket, we finished up the shoot by taking a few images with Clayton and his Corps Jacket - an old school varsity style jacket that drum corps provide their members with. The Troopers jackets have such a timeless look, and it fit right in with the aesthetic of Old Town Lewisville!
